The acts who played the SLABFEST IV noise festival The acts who played the SLABFEST IV noise festival in Manchester, NH this past weekend were uniformly excellent, and we would love to stock releases from any/all of them. There was a performance in particular that stayed w/ us by the Providence duo HARPY-- two seasoned veterans of the experimental scene, each wielding two microphones, shrieking through fx, striking sheet metal w/ lengths of chain, triggering electronic & light sequences, and unleashing barrages of unflinching sound upon the audience. Highly recommended for fans of Diamanda Galas, Bonedust, Vomitatrix, et al. We are now stocking their "Poisoned Well" & "A Sacrifice" cassettes as well as patches. Just a reminder that you don't always have to have Just a reminder that you don't always have to have the nicest, newest equipment, whether it's re: starting a business or starting a band or etc. Use what you have on hand or what you can easily afford. Case in point, this is the printer we use for all our price labels, mailing labels, shipping invoices, etc. We bought it around 2004 for our bands at the time because it could not only print our press kits & CD artwork, but it could also print CD labels & on printable CD-Rs themselves. When we moved out, we had to tear it down but saved the side panels out of nostalgia.
